This is the first version of this exhibit anywhere, built to braid Daniel Tiger's neighborhood together with the real habitats of animals at the Bronx Zoo, with a live show in which Daniel and Katerina Kittycat go looking for them. Programming runs in both Spanish and English and is built for a range of ages and abilities. It leaves after the holiday, so this is the last ride on the Trolley.

What to expect

Life-size standees of Daniel and his family mark the Tunnel of Make-Believe, and a replica red Trolley sits at the centre of the area for photographs. Original live musical performances run through the day, with character meet-and-greets and hands-on play stations between them. It sits inside a 265-acre zoo, so most families make it one stop on a longer day.

Good to know

  • 2 or 5 to West Farms Square-East Tremont Avenue for the Asia Gate, or Metro-North Harlem line to Fordham then the Bx9 bus.
  • Entry is included with Bronx Zoo admission and free for WCS members; no separate ticket.
  • Activities are built to be accessible for a range of ages and abilities and run in both Spanish and English.
  • The zoo is 265 acres, so bring a stroller for small children and plan the route rather than wandering.
  • This is the exhibit's final weekend before it leaves the Bronx.
  • Live show times are posted at the zoo entrance and on the zoo map; check them when you arrive.
