The LeFrak Center's rink is roofed but open-sided, so you skate under cover while Prospect Park's tree line goes purple around you — and for Glide and Groove the Alliance hands the sound system to LSD Clownsystem with Amber Valentine. Four hours, wheels, and a proper DJ set instead of a rink playlist. If you have only ever skated at Lakeside in daylight, the night version is effectively a different building.
What to expect
Arrive at the LeFrak Center at Lakeside on the park's southeast side and you will find the covered rink set up for a night session, DJs at one end and skaters circling. Skate rental is normally available on site if you do not own a pair. Expect the floor to thicken as the evening goes on and the crowd to skew confident rather than beginner.

Do I need my own skates?
Not necessarily. The LeFrak Center rents roller skates on site, but check with the Alliance whether rental is included with the ticket or charged separately for this session.

No. Tickets are $25, which is unusual for Prospect Park Alliance programming — most of what the Alliance runs is free, but the Glide and Groove series is ticketed.
