This is a working urban production farm on a landmarked campus, not a market that trucks produce in - the beds are a short walk from the stand. The closing weeks are when the crop plan pays off: late tomatoes, roots, greens and flowers, plus occasional cooking demos from the Sylvia Center and Staten Island Advance food writer Pamela Silvestri. If you are coming for the gardens anyway, go home with dinner.
What to expect
A small open-air stand at the Sustainability Center rather than a market of many vendors. Farm staff sell directly, answer growing questions, and periodically host workshops, tours and chef demonstrations alongside the stand.

- It runs on two weekday and weekend slots, so check which one you are aiming for
- Bring your own bags - this is a farm stand, not a supermarket
- The Sustainability Center is a walk in from the main gate, so allow a few extra minutes
