Prospect Park's interior trails — the Lullwater, the Peninsula, the Midwood old-growth remnant, the waterfall — are the parts most visitors never find because there is no obvious way in. This free guided walk starts from the Audubon Center boathouse and links them into one unhurried morning loop, at a pace anyone can hold. If you have lived near this park for years and only ever done the loop road, this is the walk that shows you the rest of it.
What to expect
A guide leads the group out from the Audubon Center along the park's woodland and waterside trails, choosing among the Lullwater, Peninsula, Midwood and waterfall routes. The pace is conversational rather than athletic, and the emphasis is on being outdoors rather than covering distance. About two hours, ending back near the start.
