Shape Up NYC is the city's genuinely free drop-in fitness program — no membership, no registration, just show up — and running a Hatha flow on Brower Park's lawn puts it outdoors with the Brooklyn Children's Museum next door. Hatha is the slower, hold-the-pose end of yoga, which makes it a forgiving entry point. If you have been circling yoga without wanting to commit to a studio, this costs nothing but an hour.

What to expect

Expect an instructor-led class on open grass with a mixed-level group, running about an hour. Bring your own mat and water. Brower Park's paths, the playground and the Brooklyn Children's Museum are all right there for before and after.
