The Gazillion Bubble Show

Lasers, fog and literal walls of bubbles — the long-running family spectacle that ends with kids inside a bubble, Saturday and Sunday mornings.

For the under-8 crowd this is close to a guaranteed win: an hour of bubbles in every configuration physics allows — smoking bubbles, bubble carousels, a finale that buries the front rows in foam — with zero plot to sit through. It's the show parents recommend to other parents for a first theater trip because squirming is fine and the house lights never fully go down. Weekend late-morning showtimes fit nap schedules perfectly.

What to expect

About 60 minutes, no intermission, heavy on oohs and audience participation. Sit close for maximum bubble contact (kids love it; cameras less so). Strollers can be checked; the theater complex has clean bathrooms and quick concessions.

Good to know

  • New World Stages, 340 W 50th St — elevator access to all levels
  • Best ages ~3–9; birthday-outing favorite
  • About an hour — ideal first live show
  • Front rows get wet-adjacent; back rows see the light effects better
  • Weekend morning and early-afternoon showtimes

Common questions

Will my kid get to touch bubbles?

Yes — bubbles reach much of the house, and a few kids are invited onstage each show.

Is it too babyish for a 10-year-old?

The sweet spot is under 9 — older kids enjoy it most as chaperones for younger siblings.
