The organiser calls this the largest Lithuanian cultural festival outside Lithuania, and forty years in, the vendor hall is the part that surprises people: amber, weavings, hand-carved wood and ceramics brought by artisans who make them. The music programme runs continuously across both days, swinging between folk-dance troupes and Lithuanian pop and rock bands. Saturday stretches to 10 p.m., which is when the festival turns into a party rather than a craft fair.
