About
Grand Avenue museums offer a free day of art, music, tours and hands-on workshops.
Grand Ave Arts: All Access turns a stretch of downtown into a free, choose-your-own cultural day, with more than 14 institutions offering workshops, performances, tours, and interactive activities. MOCA is a strong stop for families and hands-on visitors because its program combines gallery viewing, all-ages puppet making, risograph poster making, and a family dance party.
What to expect
Treat the festival as a walk along Grand Avenue between Temple and Sixth streets, and choose a few institutions instead of trying to see everything. At MOCA Grand Avenue, start with the art on view, then move into the drop-in Make-Your-Own Monster workshop or the risograph climate-poster session led by Heavy Manners Library. Families can prioritize the puppet making and dance party, while art-focused visitors can pair the galleries with the printing workshop. The full event runs from 11am to 4pm, so arriving near opening gives you time to continue toward the other participating institutions.
