This is the haunt the other Southern California Halloween events are measured against, and this is its opening weekend. Time Out lists ten mazes, with two new ones this year, Inked and Unearthed, plus five scare zones. New shows include Voodoo: Bayou's Edge and Occultum, with magicians from the Magic Castle.
What to expect
A full theme park after dark, with fog, roaming monsters and a line for every maze. Rides stay open alongside the mazes, and the stage shows run on set times through the night.

- Knott's hours list the haunt from 7pm to 2am on Friday and Saturday, September 18 and 19; there is no haunt on Sunday, September 20.
