Melrose Trading Post is the Sunday market that Angelenos actually shop rather than photograph: 250-plus sellers weekly, heavy on vintage clothing and mid-century furniture, in a school lot at the corner of Melrose and Fairfax. Because the vendor roster rotates, two consecutive Sundays look genuinely different. Admission money goes to arts programming at the high school whose lot it occupies, which is a rarer thing for a flea market than it sounds.
What to expect
A high-school parking lot laid out in vendor rows, with vintage clothing, furniture, records, jewellery and handmade goods, plus live music, food stalls and an 11 a.m. wellness session included with admission.
Good to know
- Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. every Sunday.
- Admission for children 12 and under is free and needs no ticket; under-12s must be with an adult.
- Groups of 10 or more get 50% off automatically, per the organiser.
- If online tickets sell out, cash tickets are sold at the ticket booth on the day.
- There is a limited amount of complimentary valet parking on campus, entered at Fairfax Avenue and Clinton Street.
