Street parades have become rare in Los Angeles County, and this is the only one on the calendar this weekend: floats, marching bands and community groups down Whittier Boulevard in the late morning. It hands straight off to a nine-hour festival in City Park with carnival rides, a stage and food vendors, which makes it the whole-day option for a family Sunday. Admission costs nothing.
