About
Ocean Child: I Am Yoko has enough weekend energy to earn a spot on the board.
Ono's retrospective is on the wall at The Broad through October, and this is the one night the museum puts her life on a stage instead — Yuka Honda and Glenn Kaino's musical, performed by an ensemble rather than staged as a finished production. A work-in-progress showing is the version an audience gets to see before anything is locked. The ticket also gets you into the exhibition itself, so the two halves talk to each other.
What to expect
About 90 minutes with no intermission, performed as a work-in-progress musical presentation by an ensemble of musicians and vocalists, with the audience placed in Ono's position rather than watching from outside it.
