The Harlem court has always been the neighborhood's civic space as much as its athletic one, and a two-day youth-focused takeover of Fred Samuel Playground's court leans directly on that. Six hours a day across both days makes this less an event than an occupation of the block in the best sense — the court in constant use, adults present, kids with somewhere to be. If you live in central Harlem or want to see community programming at neighborhood scale, the gate is open.
What to expect
Expect the basketball court as the center of activity — games, drills, music — with tables and canopies around the edges. The window runs into the evening on both days, so the energy shifts from afternoon play to an evening hang. The surrounding playground stays in normal use for younger kids.

- Take the 2 or 3 to 135th Street, or the B or C to 135th Street, then walk north
- Free and open to the public on public parkland
