Parkour looks like something you either grew up doing or never will, and this free Pier I session is designed to prove otherwise: coaches start with how to land, how to roll and how to read an obstacle before anyone vaults anything. It sits on the Hudson waterfront at West 70th Street, which means the sightline behind you is the river and the Palisades. If you want the summer's least expensive way to try something genuinely new, this is a ninety-minute door into it.
What to expect
Expect a warm-up, then drills that build from safe landings and rolls to basic vaults and traverses using the pier's benches, rails and steps. Instruction is pitched at true beginners and scales for anyone who arrives with experience. Wear clothes you can move in and shoes with grip.
