Warm Up has spent 28 seasons turning a museum courtyard in Long Island City into the most respected outdoor party in New York, and this is the last one of the year. The closing bill runs TDJ's hyperpop-adjacent rave sets, De Schuurman's Dutch bubbling, keiyaA's XL-signed vocal work and DJ WORKING CLASS out of Sao Paulo. If you have spent all summer meaning to go, there is no next weekend to push it to.

What to expect

You enter through the museum into a walled concrete courtyard built around a rotating architectural commission, with the sound system aimed across an open dancefloor. Expect a six-hour run from late afternoon into night, a crowd that skews art-world and dresses accordingly, drinks and food service on site, and no seating to speak of.

Good to know

  • The 7, E, M and G trains all stop within a few minutes of the museum in Long Island City
  • General museum admission stops in the afternoon on Warm Up days; a separate ticket is needed after that
  • Advance tickets are cheaper than at the door, and the closing date is the one that sells
  • It is an outdoor courtyard, so weather matters and there is minimal cover
  • Wear shoes for standing on concrete for hours
  • Arrive early enough to see the courtyard commission in daylight before the crowd fills in

TDJ from Montreal, De Schuurman from The Hague, keiyaA from New York on XL Recordings, and DJ WORKING CLASS from Sao Paulo.
