This is the first stop of a six-city roadshow that For Freedoms and Future Currents are taking across the country. The bill puts poetry and live music on the same stage: aja monet's blues poems with a band, Marc Bamuthi Joseph's sermon-like piece, and Xiuhtezcatl's hip-hop. The Ford's hillside amphitheater is one of the more intimate outdoor stages in Los Angeles.

A DJ set to open, then three live sets that move from hip-hop into spoken word and end with poetry backed by jazz and soul. The Ford is an open-air amphitheater set into the hills of the Cahuenga Pass.
