This is a neighbourhood street fest with a lineup that punches well above its size: La Luz closes Saturday and the Sun Ra Arkestra closes Sunday, with Sen Morimoto, Ariel Zetina and a Damon Locks DJ set earlier. Local restaurants like Lonesome Rose, Parson's and Osteria Langhe run the food, and the contests (lookalikes, a giardiniera-eating contest, best seed art) give it a county-fair feel.
What to expect
Bands from 1:30 p.m. into the night, a beer and wine lineup from Chicago breweries and wineries, and a kids' area with a petting zoo, face painting and carnival games from noon to 6 p.m. There are also free wellness sessions like yoga and pottery.
