Prompts and an example

Build your description around:
The experience and atmosphere; the agenda; what’s included; who will enjoy it; what makes this date special; and useful tips for attending.

Take a quiet morning out of your week with a guided meditation and sound session in the park. We’ll gather under the trees, settle onto our mats, and ease into a few gentle breathing exercises before beginning the meditation. You’re welcome whether this is your first session or part of an existing practice.

The first fifteen minutes are for arriving, finding a comfortable place, and meeting the facilitator. A forty-minute guided practice follows, with a mix of seated breathing, a slow awareness exercise, and time to listen to the surrounding sounds. We’ll finish with an optional conversation about simple ways to bring the practice into everyday life. You can participate in the conversation or leave quietly when the session ends.

This is a small, relaxed group. There is no expectation to speak, hold a particular posture, or have any previous experience. Our facilitator will offer seated and lying-down options throughout, and you can take a break whenever you need one. The instructions are spoken clearly, without music playing over them, so it’s easy to follow along.

Bring a mat or blanket, drinking water, and an extra layer for sitting still outdoors. A limited number of spare mats will be available, but bringing your own is the best way to be comfortable. Wear whatever you can move and sit in easily; specialist clothing or equipment is unnecessary.

We’ll send registered guests the exact meeting point and arrival instructions before the event. The nearest entrance has a paved route to the gathering area, and seating can be arranged if you contact us in advance. If the weather changes, check the official event page for the latest location update before setting out. Come a little early if you’d like help getting settled or have a question for the facilitator.

FAQ

Does submitting an event get it on the board?

Submissions go through automatic checks against their public source pages before publication, including dates, location and duplicate listings. We’ll email status updates or a request for missing information. You can follow progress in Manage your events.

What do organizers get when an event is published?

A public event listing with a link to your official event page. Sign in with your submission email to share the listing, download a share image and see activity such as listing views, saves and clicks to your official page.

Why is the link to the official listing required?

The public event or ticket page lets us check dates, times, location and admission, and gives visitors an official place to find the latest information.

Is it free to submit a Chicago event?

Yes. Submitting an event to Stumblday is free, and you can submit without creating an account. There is no paid placement on the board.

How far ahead should I send an event?

Send it as soon as the dates and public event page are ready. Include the year, start and end times, timezone, and any recurring dates so we can check the right occurrence.

How will I hear about my submission?

We send a receipt and status updates to the contact email you provide. Use that same email in Manage your events to check progress or make changes. For other questions, email bryan@stumblday.com.

Do I need an account or photos to submit?

No account is needed to submit the six essentials. Photos, pricing and additional guest details are optional. Add up to five JPG, PNG or WebP photos, up to 5 MB each, that you have permission to share. Your first photo is the cover. Sign in with your contact email afterward to add photos or update your submission.

What kinds of Chicago events can I submit?

Submit events in Chicago that the public can attend, with specific dates and an official event or ticket page. Workshops, performances, exhibitions, markets, food events and outdoor activities are welcome. Include any age limits or booking requirements.
