Mile 15 is where the field has thinned and the charity runners are deep enough in to feel it, and the marathon builds its own block party right there rather than leaving it to a neighbourhood crowd. It sits on the West Side leg of the course, well away from the Grant Park crush, so you can actually get to the barricade. Thousands of the runners passing are fundraising, and this is the stretch built to shout at them.
