Botti's residency is a New York holiday tradition, mixing his smooth-jazz hits with standards and guest vocalists and string players in a 200-seat room where the trumpet is never more than 30 feet away. New Year's Day at the Blue Note is a mellow way to start the year after the night before. It is one of the few marquee concerts in the city on January 1.
