It is the best-established gospel brunch in the city and a warm, uplifting way to start the year, especially if the previous night ran late. The choir works the room, the crowd stands and claps, and the brunch menu makes it a meal and a show in one. Tourists know it, but plenty of New Yorkers use it as a January 1 ritual.

What to expect

About 75 minutes of music with brunch served before and during; seating is at shared tables. Arrive at least 30 minutes before for better tables.
