Harlem's Jazzmobile brings a free big-name jazz night to the Bryant Park lawn at the start of Picnic Performances — expected late May 2027.

Jazzmobile books real headliners — trombonist Wycliffe Gordon led the 2026 edition — and Bryant Park's lawn at dusk is a spectacular setting for them. It's free, central and over by 8:30pm. Pair it with the NYC Opera night the following evening for a two-night free Bryant Park run. Jazzmobile's Harlem roots mean the bookings lean toward straight-ahead jazz royalty rather than crossover acts.

What to expect

A roughly 75-minute outdoor jazz set on the lawn stage; free lawn and gravel-edge seating.
