Movies on the Beach is free, and the beach is big enough that you never have to fight for a spot the way you would on a Manhattan lawn. Come down in the afternoon, swim, eat, and stay for the film.
What to expect
A screen and sound rigged on the sand with the audience spread out on towels, blankets and low chairs. Expect a beach-day crowd that stays into the evening, amusement park noise and lights as ambience, cooler ocean air after sunset, and a start time keyed to darkness rather than the clock.
