Floradora

Libertine's Cody Pruitt reworks Italian-American Village nostalgia into disco fries au poivre and gochujang vodka garganelli, poured until 2am.

Cody Pruitt made his name at Libertine doing French bistro cooking with an unusually good wine list, and Floradora is the loose, late version of that instinct - two floors of warm wood and Tiffany-style glass on Thompson Street, with Vanessa Velez turning out gochujang vodka garganelli and disco fries au poivre without irony. The cocktails lean disco-era, down to the house gin-and-raspberry Floradora. Built for a long night.

What to expect

A two-story room with vintage-inspired decor, warm wood and Tiffany-style lighting, running as a restaurant downstairs and a bar you can settle into late. The menu is short and comfort-leaning rather than tasting-menu formal, and the drinks list is the other half of the argument. Expect a walk-in bar crowd building through the evening.

Good to know

  • A/B/C/D/E/F/M to West 4th Street, or the 1 to Houston, both leave a short walk
  • Kitchen and bar run late into the small hours toward the end of the week
  • It is dinner and late-night only, so do not plan on lunch
  • The bar is the easier way in if you have not booked a table
  • The space is two stories - ask about ground-floor seating if stairs are a problem
  • It took over the Chateau Royale space from the same ownership, so the address may still show the old name on some maps
