Frenzie

The Confidant team opened a pizza-and-natural-wine bar directly next door, pouring only organic and biodynamic bottles. Walk-in only and open later than almost anything else on Atlantic Avenue.

The team from Confidant opened a pizza and wine bar directly next door, and it keeps the kind of hours Brooklyn Heights rarely offers. Brendan Kelley and Daniel Grossman, who met in the kitchen at Roberta's, build 14-inch New York-style pies on sourdough made from a flour blend milled just for them by Brooklyn Granary. Walk in after 10 p.m. and a slice with a martini runs $20.

What to expect

No reservations - it is walk-in only, so expect a wait on Friday and Saturday nights. Order a pie plus one or two small plates; the sungold tomato pie and the hamachi crudo are the kitchen's summer showpieces. Every wine is natural, biodynamic or organic, and there is a short list of amari and spritzes.

Good to know

  • After 10 p.m. there is a late-night special: a slice and a martini for $20.
