For sixty years the address at 3 East 52nd Street belonged to La Grenouille, and the room reopened on September 1 as a Beijing duck house. Chef Matt Chen arrives from Le Palais in Taipei, reportedly the first restaurant in Taiwan to earn three Michelin stars, and the Vancouver original has had six years to work out the bird. Whole ducks start at $128.

What to expect

This is a special-occasion Midtown room, not a casual drop-in - book ahead and dress for it. The duck is the reason to come and starts at $128, so plan on sharing it across the table. If you want the full argument, there is a tasting menu at roughly $200 per person.
