New York Fashion Week is almost entirely closed to the public; this is a runway show you can actually walk into, staged in one of the most spectacular interiors in the city. The Red Room is a landmarked Art Deco mosaic chamber that sat behind bank doors for eighty years and only opened to the public when Printemps arrived in 2025. Even if the clothes are not the draw, the room is - and unusually for fashion week, you can buy what walks past you.

What to expect

A short, tightly staged runway presentation - about an hour - inside a mosaic-lined former banking hall, followed by the chance to shop the looks on the spot. Expect a store-audience mix of clients, downtown regulars and curious walk-ins rather than an industry-only front row, and standing or limited seating rather than assigned places.

Good to know

  • Printemps occupies One Wall Street at Broadway and Wall - take the 4/5 to Wall Street, the R/W to Rector, or the 2/3 to Wall Street
  • The Red Room is on the store's ground floor and is worth seeing even outside show hours
  • Book the free reservation through the Printemps events page in advance; completing it requires opting into store email and SMS
  • The store's champagne bar and cafe are open around the event if you want to make an evening of it
  • The Financial District empties out on weekends, so getting there is easier than a Midtown fashion event
  • Looks are shoppable immediately after the presentation, so bring a card if you intend to buy

Is this open to the public?

Yes. Printemps lists it on its public events calendar as a free, zero-cost reservation booked through the site. It is a store presentation rather than an industry-credentialed Fashion Week show.

What is the Red Room?

The former Irving Trust banking hall at One Wall Street - a 33-foot-tall Art Deco chamber whose walls and ceiling are covered in Hildreth Meiere's red-and-gold glass mosaic. It was designated a New York City interior landmark in 2024.

Can I buy the clothes from the show?

Yes. Printemps says guests can shop the featured runway looks directly after the presentation.
