After decades on Sixth Avenue in Park Slope, Puppetworks has moved to Industry City, and its first season there is the Brothers Grimm classic told with marionettes and Humperdinck songs. This version adds a witch named Lady Rosina Sweettooth, and the roughly hour-long runtime suits preschool attention spans. If you grew up on old-school string puppetry, this is the one to share with your kids.
What to expect
Expect a small theater, a traditional marionette stage and about 55 minutes of storytelling and song. Marionettes are by Nicolas Coppola with scenery by Kevin Frisch, and the audience is mostly families with young kids.
