This is the last big street fair of the Astoria calendar, and the block it takes over is one of the best eating corridors in Queens, which means you can graze the fair stalls and then duck into a permanent restaurant when you want the real version. Free to enter, easy to reach on the elevated line, and short enough to combine with a proper meal. Kiddie rides make it a genuine family afternoon rather than a walk-through.
What to expect
Roughly a dozen blocks of closed street with vendor tents on both sides, food carts, craft and clothing stalls, and a small ride setup for kids. Crowds build through the middle of the day and thin toward the close. Entry is free with cash-friendly vendors, and the elevated line runs directly overhead so getting in and out is straightforward.
