Killer of Sheep gets the canon slot, but My Brother's Wedding is the Burnett film with the most brutal ending, and it spent decades in a compromised cut nobody could see properly. This restoration was overseen by Burnett himself, and it puts one of the great American films about class, obligation and Black Los Angeles back on a real screen with a real print.
