Loktev's first chapter, Last Air in Moscow, tracked the women of TV Rain as Putin's state closed in. This one picks up the moment they fled. It runs 355 minutes with a single intermission, it screens exactly once at NYFF64, and the Q&A puts Loktev onstage with five of the journalists she filmed. That combination does not repeat.

What to expect

A 355-minute documentary in Russian with English subtitles, screening with one 30-minute intermission, followed by a conversation with Julia Loktev, Ksenia Mironova, Alesya Marokhovskaya, Irina Dolinina, Sonya Groysman and Elena Kostyuchenko. Plan on the better part of a day.
