This is the hundredth one, and Little Italy does not do understatement. Eleven days of sausage and peppers, zeppole fried in front of you, and a street so dense with lights strung overhead that the sky disappears. Two hours anchor it: the Solemn High Mass on Saturday September 19 at 2pm, and the Grand Procession — floats, celebrities and the gondola — on Saturday September 26, also at 2pm.
What to expect
Mulberry Street closed to traffic from Canal to Houston and lined end to end with food stalls, game booths and lights, plus stages and roughly 35 scheduled events across the eleven days. Weekday evenings early in the run are markedly calmer than either Saturday.
