Feast of San Gennaro 2026
The feast's centrepiece: floats, celebrities and the gondola down Mulberry Street.
The Feast of San Gennaro takes over Little Italy for eleven days each September, and 2026 is the 100th annual edition: Thursday September 17 through Sunday September 27, with Mulberry Street closed to traffic from Canal to Houston plus stretches of Hester and Grand. The organizers publish a full event calendar — the Solemn High Mass on September 19 and the Grand Procession with floats on September 26 are the two fixed points worth planning around.

Eleven days is long enough that the choice of day matters more than the choice of hour. The two anchored events are the Solemn High Mass on Saturday September 19 at 2pm and the Grand Procession on Saturday September 26 at 2pm — the procession is the one with floats and the gondola, and it is the single most photographed hour of the feast. If you want the street without the crush, the weekday evenings early in the run are far calmer than either Saturday. The organizers list around 35 events across the run on their own calendar, which is the only schedule worth trusting as the dates approach.
The feast is bigger than the block most people picture. Mulberry Street from Canal up to Houston is the spine, and it extends onto Hester between Baxter and Centre and onto Grand between Baxter and Centre Market Place. Come up from Canal Street on the 6, N/Q/R/W or J/Z and you walk into the southern end; the Spring Street 6 stop puts you at the quieter northern end, which is the better approach on a busy Saturday.
Figli di San Gennaro publishes dates, streets and the event calendar, but not daily opening hours or an admission policy on its site. Treat any specific hours you see on aggregator pages with caution — this guide only carries what the operator states, and the same aggregators were listing the Grand Procession on the wrong Saturday when we checked. For hours on the day, the organizers' phone line and their calendar entries for individual events are the reliable source.
Thursday September 17 through Sunday September 27, 2026 — the 100th annual feast, per the organizers.
Saturday September 26 from 2pm to 4pm, with floats, celebrities and the gondola. Note that the Solemn High Mass is the earlier Saturday, September 19, also at 2pm — the two are often confused.
Mulberry Street between Canal and Houston is the main stretch, plus Hester between Baxter and Centre and Grand between Baxter and Centre Market Place.
The organizers do not publish daily street-fair hours on their official site. Individual events carry their own times on the official event calendar.
