Queens Pride is the neighborhood-scale, family-heavy Pride that many New Yorkers prefer to the Manhattan march — a 20-block parade through the most diverse neighborhood in America, then a festival of food and stages. It always lands on the first Sunday of June, so it opens Pride month. Jackson Heights' Colombian, Indian and Tibetan restaurants make the after-party easy.
What to expect
A noon parade along 37th Avenue (traditionally 89th St to 75th St) with community groups, floats and elected officials, then a multicultural festival with stages, vendors and food at 37th Road near 75th St until evening.
