By day nine the draw has burned off its filler and every court has a match worth stopping at. Monday runs the back half of both singles Rounds of 16, day and night, so you get two shots at a seeded showdown under the Ashe roof. It is also the last day Louis Armstrong day tickets are sold, the final chance at a reserved seat outside the main stadium.
What to expect
A full grounds day: two Ashe sessions bookending outer-court doubles and junior matches, with most remaining seeds still playing. Grounds passes get you Armstrong, the Grandstand and every field court but not Arthur Ashe. Food, the Fountain Plaza and the practice courts run all day between matches.
Good to know
- Gates open 9:30am for the day session and 6pm for the night session; the two are separate tickets.
- Arthur Ashe matches start at 11:30am, half an hour after play begins elsewhere.
- Grounds Admission covers Armstrong, the Grandstand and all field courts but never Arthur Ashe.
- Take the 7 to Mets-Willets Point or the LIRR Port Washington branch; driving on Labor Day is a bad idea.
