The Art x Environment Fellows installed Ancestral Ecologies directly into the Brooklyn Botanic Garden's plantings, so the works are multisensory pieces you walk past rather than objects behind glass. It runs alongside Block by Block, which marks thirty years of the Greenest Block in Brooklyn contest with recreated award-winning streetscapes. What to expect
You encounter the installations while walking the Garden's paths, distributed across the grounds rather than gathered in one room. Late summer means roses, water lilies and the native flora meadow are at their fullest. Admission to the Garden covers the exhibitions; entry is via Flatbush or Washington Avenue.
