A Sunday market that runs every week of the year, indoors and outdoors, one block from the American Museum of Natural History, is the most useful thing on the Upper West Side on a long-weekend morning. The mix is genuinely broad: antique and vintage dealers alongside makers and food vendors. If your Sunday plan is the museum or the park, this is the natural bookend.

What to expect

Vendor stalls spread across indoor space and an outdoor schoolyard, mixing antiques, vintage clothing, art, jewellery, crafts and prepared food. It is compact enough to walk in under an hour but dense enough to lose an afternoon in. Central Park and the Natural History museum are both a block or two away.

Good to know

  • Take the B or C to 81st Street–Museum of Natural History, or the 1 to 79th Street.
  • Part of the market is indoors, so it works in poor weather.
  • Bring a card and some cash; vendor payment methods vary.
  • It runs every Sunday year-round, so it is a reliable fallback rather than a one-off.
  • Combine it with the Natural History museum or Central Park's west side, both a block away.
  • Go early if you want first look at the antique and vintage dealers.
