Henry Cummings grew up in Park Slope and Mark Thomas used to run a chunk of Pret a Manger, and between them they have made the kind of place a block actually needs: Red Hook coffee and mille-feuille in the morning, baguettes and rotating vegetarian quiche at lunch, then charcuterie, dips and fondue with the lights down. They will also fill your own cup if you bring one.

What to expect

A daytime cafe pouring Abbotsford Coffee out of Red Hook alongside beer on tap and by the can, wine and non-alcoholic options. Lunch runs to baguettes filled with brie and hot pepper jam or soppressata; evenings shift to cheese, dips and fondue at 333 Court Street.

Good to know

  • Bring your own to-go cup — the team explicitly encourages it
  • Coffee comes from Red Hook roaster Abbotsford Coffee
  • Beer is available both on tap and by the can, plus wine and zero-proof options
  • At 333 Court Street at Sackett Street in Carroll Gardens
  • Closest subway is Carroll St on the F and G
