The second half of the Wicked story — Elphaba and Glinda's friendship going where everyone knew it had to go — projected on a screen in a Bronx playground, for free, with the whole block turning out. Movies Under the Stars is the most quietly great thing NYC Parks does all summer: a real film, a real screen, no ticket, and a crowd of neighbors on lawn chairs. This is one of the last screenings of the season, and by far the biggest title on the schedule.
What to expect
The screen goes up on the basketball courts and the film starts once it is properly dark, so there is a stretch of waiting where families settle in with blankets and folding chairs. Expect a loud, engaged crowd that sings along at the obvious moments. Nothing is sold on site — bring your own snacks.

- The 2 and 5 trains to Nereid Avenue, then a bus east, is the usual route
