Rush spent a decade officially retired, and Fifty Something is the tour that undid it — Geddy Lee and Alex Lifeson back on an arena stage working through half a century of odd time signatures. The Garden gets four nights, more than almost any other city on the run, and the room suits a band whose appeal is hearing three instruments do the work of six. If you gave up on seeing Tom Sawyer played live here, that assumption expires.
What to expect
Expect a long show built in two acts with an intermission, heavy on the projection screens and lighting rigs that have always been part of a Rush production. The crowd skews devout and knows every fill. Merch lines on the Garden's 200-level concourse are shortest right after the set starts.
