Most of New York Fashion Week is a closed loop of editors and buyers; The Bureau's whole premise is that the seat is purchasable. The designer roster runs deep and international — Pia Bolte, Kenneth Barlis, Anthony Alonzi, Red Lightning Couture, Malton Couture, SéSé KUTUR, Island by Koa Nani and Khadeeja Khan among more than a hundred — and it plays out under the coffered dome of a landmarked 1924 Beaux-Arts banking hall. What to expect
Back-to-back runway shows in a roughly 1,500-capacity former banking hall with marble columns and a soaring domed ceiling, each show presenting several designers in sequence. Saturday's evening slot is the biggest of the weekend with nine designers, and Sunday's evening show is billed as the Grand Finale. A separate-ticketed Rose Ball after party follows Friday's shows.
Good to know
- Seats are sold to the public, which is what separates this from most of the NYFW calendar.
- Gotham Hall is at 1356 Broadway at West 36th Street, a landmarked Beaux-Arts building in Midtown.
- Nearest trains: B/D/F/M/N/Q/R/W to 34th St–Herald Square and the 1/2/3 to 34th St–Penn Station.
- The Rose Ball after party requires its own separate ticket — it is not included with a runway seat.
- Each runway slot bundles multiple designers, so check which names are on the slot you're buying.
- Dress accordingly: this is a fashion-week audience and the room is photographed heavily.
