Pier 17's roof is the only place in Lower Manhattan where you get the Brooklyn Bridge, the Manhattan Bridge and the whole downtown skyline in one turn of the head, and The Greens covers it in lawn turf with striped cabanas so you can sit in it rather than just photograph it. Walking in costs nothing — you only pay if you want a reserved cabana or a drink. If you have visitors in town and one afternoon to impress them, start here.
What to expect
An open rooftop deck laid with turf, ringed by private cabanas and dotted with lounge seating and games. A bar and food counters run along the inland edge, and the river side is left clear for the view. Expect it to be busiest at sunset, when the bridge lights come up.

- 2/3, 4/5, J/Z or A/C to Fulton Street, then walk east through the Seaport to Pier 17
- General entry is free; cabanas are reservable and carry a spend minimum
- Sunset is the busiest hour — arrive before it if you want a rail spot
- The deck is fully exposed; there is little shade on hot afternoons
- Elevators run from the Pier 17 lobby, so the roof is step-free
