Things to Do at The Joyce Theater

The Joyce Theater is a dance theater in Manhattan's Chelsea neighborhood at 175 Eighth Avenue, on the corner of 19th Street. It opened in 1982 inside the former Elgin Theater, a 1941 movie house whose interior was gutted to create a 472-seat house, with about 10 standing room positions. The Joyce runs a 45 to 48-week season and has hosted more than 400 domestic and international companies. Tickets are sold online, by phone through JoyceCharge at 212-242-0800, and in person at the box office, open Monday through Friday from noon to 6pm and through curtain time on performance days. On a performance night expect a bag search, a digital or physical ticket scanned at the door, a concessions stand in the lower lobby, and no photography or recording during the show.
