Geese went from Brooklyn high-school band to one of the most talked-about rock acts in the country, and this is their biggest headline show yet, in a 1920s tennis stadium steps from the Queens Boulevard subway. This first night sold out almost instantly, with Leenalchi's electrifying pansori-pop as opener. If you want the indie show New Yorkers will be comparing notes on all autumn, this is it.

What to expect

Expect an open-air horseshoe of concrete stands around a general-admission floor, with the sky overhead and the stage at one end. Leenalchi opens before Geese's headline set, and the band has partnered with PLUS1, so a dollar per ticket goes to community organizations.

Good to know

  • Take the E, F, M or R to Forest Hills–71st Av, then walk about ten minutes through the Tudor streets of Forest Hills Gardens.
  • The venue is outdoors, so check the forecast and bring a layer.
  • This night sold out fast; check official resale on AXS rather than street sellers.
  • A second night with a different opener follows if this one is out of reach.
  • Review the stadium's bag policy before you go.

Going? Keep it.
