The Knicks' name is now engraved on the NBA's 30-pound sterling-silver Larry O'Brien Trophy, and the league's own copy is on display at the Natural History Museum. It shares the room with the NFL's Vince Lombardi Trophy, one of Jesse Owens's 1936 Olympic golds, Breanna Stewart's 2024 Liberty championship ring and Yogi Berra's Babe Ruth Crown. For any New York sports fan, this is the photo of the fall.
What to expect
More than 70 objects across over 15 sports, from traditional cups and medals to elaborate jeweled rings, displayed in the Meister Gallery inside the museum's Halls of Gems and Minerals on the first floor. The show explores how precious metals and gemstones have marked victory for nearly 150 years.
