Each market night a parking lot behind the New York Hall of Science turns into the city's most global food hall, with stalls cooking recipes carried over from all over the world and families eating on the curb until midnight. Admission is free, so the whole night is about grazing: split plates, compare notes, go back for the best thing you tried. With only a few Saturdays left before the season closes, this is the weekend to get there.
What to expect
Rows of tented food stalls and a handful of merchandise and art vendors run the length of the lot, with lines forming fastest at the most photographed dishes. People eat standing or at shared seating, and the crowd is a true Queens cross-section of families, students and food obsessives.
