Celebrate New York City Global Humanity Day on the 26th anniversary of Triumph of the Human Spirit. Created by Dr. Lorenzo Pace and dedicated in 2000, the 50-foot black granite sculpture honors enslaved Africans interred at the African Burial Ground and symbolizes freedom and endurance. The annual community gathering takes place at the sculpture in Foley Square.
