Every fall the Loisaida United Neighborhood Gardens (LUNGS) Harvest Arts Festival fills the Lower East Side's community gardens with free art and music, and this afternoon 11 BC Serenity Garden gets a two-band double bill. Thick Zipper bring 60s rock and roll and Britpop attitude, then The Don't Look Now's follow with energetic, offbeat original pop songs. If you like discovering bands in intimate green spaces, this is a charming East Village hang.
What to expect
A small outdoor stage among the garden beds on East 11th Street between Avenues B and C. Thick Zipper play the first hour and The Don't Look Now's take the second, with neighbors, dog walkers and festival-goers drifting in and out. It is relaxed and unticketed, more backyard show than club gig.
