About
Eagles, falcons, owls and hawks fly live demonstrations over a Queens ballfield at the Urban Park Rangers' free Raptor Fest.
Seeing a falcon or hawk swoop low over a city field is a thrill for kids and adults alike, and Raptor Fest brings eagles, owls and more close enough to study their feathers. The falconers explain how each bird hunts and how rescued birds are rehabilitated. If your kids love animals, this is a free afternoon they will talk about all week.
What to expect
An open field set up with activity tables and a flight-demonstration area, handlers walking birds on the glove, and Urban Park Rangers leading hands-on stations. Crowds gather in a ring when the flying demos begin, and kids get close-up looks at feathers, talons and the birds' sharp eyes.
