You leave with the cup, which is a rare thing for a two-hour performance in a public park. Lugo pours his mother's ginger tea into vessels he made himself while Lennie Simo and Marley Howard build a live score of drumming and spoken word on the Cherry Lawn. It is one Saturday window only, staged inside the artist's own commission.
What to expect
Two hours outdoors on the Cherry Lawn from 4:30 to 6:30 PM, built around performance, tea service and food rather than seated concert-going. The handmade cup is included and yours to take home. Several experience tiers are offered rather than one flat price.
Good to know
- One afternoon only: Saturday, September 19, 4:30 to 6:30 PM on the Cherry Lawn.
- The handmade Lugo cup your tea is served in is yours to keep.
- All proceeds fund the Conservancy's public art program.
